Babywearing crosses cultures and generations, it continues to be an important aspect of parenting across the globe. We must acknowledge that many of the carriers we see and use today are cultural. Let us be mindful and thankful of where the carrier designs came from.

Ring Slings

A length of fabric that crosses diagonally across the back and fans out on one shoulder, then threaded between two rings. This is a lightweight carrier that can easily be thrown in the diaper bag. They come in different fabrics and lengths. Good for babies 8-35 pounds! These are all by Hope & Plum, a women owned company who employ work-at-home parents to make the carriers in Minnesota.

Soft Structure Carriers (SSC)

There are many different brands and styles of SSC. They generally feature a buckled waist, padded straps, and different points of adjustments. --- Happy Baby 7-45 pounds; Linen The carrier is lightweight and without the thick waistband many SSC have. It is put on apron style and a hammock seat is create for the baby. It does not require a newborn insert. It is one size, fits most, and I also have an extender belt for the carrier. Stretchy Wraps

Stretchy wraps are great for newborns, they stretch in all directions, are soft, and keep baby close and high.
