Postpartum Support

A lost art, coming together for a new parent in the delicate and special time full of recovery, rest and bonding. Bringing meals full of nutrients, warm and soft to ease in digestion and help in healing. Making tea, taking over chores and daily tasks, helping feed the baby while parents nap and shower and enjoy a meal together. A time filled with loving murmurs and newborn snuggles, soft blankets, soft bellies, soft voices and soft food.

Not only will I help in this arena, I will help you plan for others to provide and support you in this time as well!

  • We will have a prenatal together to discuss what your needs and support might look like. Maybe a focus on breast/chestfeeding or creating boundaries with family and friends. Maybe it’s how to maintain a strong relationship with your partner or making sure you both get plenty of sleep.

From there I can help you create task divisions for the home, an email to send out for boundaries, or even a meal train.

  • Each time I visit, I’ll ask when was the last time you slept, ate or took a shower? Maybe we will want to focus on you getting one or all of these things. I can make oatmeal, wear the baby, and tidy while you shower and nap. Afterwards we can drink tea and discuss how things have been and I can answer any questions you have. We can practice babywearing, try different latching positions, prepare a meal for later, and before I go I can take out the trash.

There are so many different things I can do to help your family in this new, exciting and exhausting time. Each visit with each client is different and I adapt to your needs as you need them.

  • It may sound odd, but my goal is to work myself out of a job with you. I want to help you build confidence in parenting learn to provide care for baby, family, and self. To find time to allow for rest, recovery and bonding. It’s trial and error and we never stop learning how to be parents!

Even after, I am always a text or email away!

Ash was such a great support as a postpartum doula. She is a great listener and provides great advice. As a new mom with family far away, it was great to have someone to talk about new parenting feelings and questions. She is great at communicating and working with your needs. I wish I knew about her before I gave birth, but I am glad I found her for much needed postpartum support!

Ash was super friendly when I first met her we had a great chat online before deciding to work together . The first week we talked through birth which was really crucial for me , she went through tasty recipes that she went on to make and couldn’t help me enough physically as I had an unplanned section. She is very knowledgeable about postpartum recovery and empowers you to rest & heal, to connect with baby and will do anything you ask ! She really was so helpful in our journey as first time parents and has become our friend too.
